Essential Local is an independent local business support agency and magazine founded in Balham. 20,000 copies of the A5 glossy magazine - complete with event listings, local reviews, celebrity articles and local features - are distributed four times per year directly to households in Battersea, Balham and Clapham. It now also includes an A to Z Directory of selected local businesses, venues and services (with an entry for local businesses priced at just £95 for 12 months/4 issues). Essential Local is a team of freelance journalists, print agents, graphic designers and website designers. It was founded in Balham over six years ago to support local small and start-up businesses and to offer fair, low-cost design, print and promotional services. Regular offers include 5000 doublesided A6 postcards for £90; 500 biz cards, 500 comp slips and 500 letterheads for just £149; and 5-page websites for £195. Operating in a similar way to a local cooperative, every service is designed to secure the lowest possible prices for small business, for whom every penny counts. |

Lee and Lucy Pendleton established James
Pendleton Independent Estate Agents in 2003, opening their first office
in Clapham South.
Since then the company and the team has grown significantly focusing on
